Big tech experience

Big tech experience.

It looks good on a CV, right?

But it's more than just a few fancy logos. It's a complete rewiring of how you approach everything in business. I spent years in the trenches at companies like Microsoft, Sony, and Google, navigating complex global markets and multi-million pounds/euros campaigns, as well as liaising with at times stubborn stakeholders with different cultures, habits, management styles, languages.

Trust me, it's a crash course in levelling up – fast. And I did enjoy every moment of it, even the ones that at the time seemed insurmountable.

That experience is the secret sauce I bring to every client engagement.

Here's the thing about big tech: it forces you to think differently. Siloed work? Forget it (especially in my world of ABM). In that kind of environment, every decision has ripple effects across the entire organisation. You learn to connect the dots (after you have found the ones that got lost along the way), anticipate challenges a mile away, and influence outcomes – once again, fast. You become a master of navigating complex matrix structures, building consensus among diverse stakeholders (a smile on your face and a huge dose of empathy help here), and getting things done (even when the odds - and some people - are stacked against you). People who know me well, in both my personal and professional life, do know that I love a challenge.

But what does all that mean for your business now? Whether you're a startup or a scaling enterprise, that big-tech / enterprise mindset translates into some serious advantages:

✔️ I can spot potential roadblocks before they derail your plans: I've seen it all, from botched product launches to marketing campaigns that missed the mark (by a mile). My experience allows me to anticipate potential pitfalls and steer you toward smarter, more effective solutions (= saving you that precious marketing budget).

✔️ I can help you build a high-performing team, even with limited resources: big tech taught me how to maximise impact with the resources you have. I can help you identify key talent, build a collaborative culture, and empower your team to achieve ambitious goals, even on a tight budget.

✔️ I can get your sales and marketing teams speaking the same language (finally!): one of the biggest challenges in any business is aligning sales and marketing. I've bridged that gap countless times, building shared understanding, defining common goals, and creating a unified approach that drives revenue growth. Plus, sales & marketing alignment is one of the core principles of ABM (Account Based Marketing), which I am a big fan of.

✔️ I bring a global perspective to every challenge: my experience living across several countries and working for brands across markets means I consider the global implications of every decision, even for smaller clients who may not yet operate internationally (but probably will). Cross-cultural management is one of the subjects very dear to my heart, as well as the topic of a post-graduate course I teach at University.

✔️ I know how to influence outcomes and get buy-in: in big tech, resources aren't handed out freely. You learn pretty early on in your career how to build a compelling case, persuade stakeholders, and mobilise teams to achieve a common goal. Everyone wants a healthy piece of that multi-million marketing budget!

So yeah, the lessons I learned from my career in big global enterprises are the driving force behind the results I deliver now for my clients every single day, regardless the size of the business (and I still do LOVE working with and for enterprises, in case you were wondering!).

If you're ready to bring that big-tech strategic advantage and multi-cultural approach to your business, let's connect.
